Mark E. Thompson Prior to founding Forefront Economics, Mark worked in the Rates and Marketing departments at Portland General Electric where his responsibilities included cost effectiveness analysis, load analysis and forecasting, market research, and program evaluation. Before joining PGE, Mark was Manager of Economic Forecasting at Union Pacific Railroad, where he was responsible for tracking and forecasting daily and monthly rail traffic in several products. Prior to joining PGE, Mark conducted economic analysis and developed econometric systems of equations for simulating fisheries markets at Louisiana State University. He has a Masters of Science degree in Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics with a minor in Statistics from Oregon State University and BS in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. Mark's extensive experience with SAS® software helped to earn Forefront Economics Inc. the designation of SAS Alliance Silver Partner by the SAS Institute. Mark has been using SAS® software since 1977 and continues to receive up-to-date training from the SAS Institute. Recently he has been distinguished by the SAS Institute as a SAS Certified Professional in Version 8 of SAS software. Mark Thompson presented a paper entitled "The Science and Art of Market Segmentation Using PROC FASTCLUS" at the 24th Annual SAS User's Group International at Miami Beach in 1999. Thompson Cyndi has been working for Forefront Economics since its inception in 1993. She wears many hats at Forefront; in addition to her Analyst work, she is on the Board of Directors with Mark. She has extensive knowledge of various spreadsheet, word processing, database, publishing, presentation and financial software. For the past 12 years, Cyndi has also enjoyed introducing economic concepts to college students in her introductory economics classes.
